Default Booker Noe is dead

"vincent p. norris" wrote in message
I've always wondered: if he is Jim Beam's grandson, why isn't his name
Booker Beam?

Because when daughters marry, their children have a different surname.

Right: Booker was the son of one of Jim's daughters, Margaret, who married
Frederick Booker Noe. Booker was their son, and his son, Freddie Noe, is
named for his grandfather.

There are other Beams working in the business. Parker Beam and his son Craig
are the master distillers at Heaven Hill (every drop of Heaven Hill has been
distilled by a Beam, something Jim Beam can't say anymore); the distiller at
Michter's was a Beam. Toddy Beam owns a liquor store in Bardstown (great for
finding odd bottlings you may not find elsewhere).
