Lagunitas Sirius

So, this is their spring seasonal. They bill it as a high gravity cream
ale. 7.6% ABV and 40 IBU! I kinda expected to get at least a little
corn character out of it since it was billed as a cream ale, but I guess
the high hopping should have given me a clue. To me, I can't see why
this isn't an IPA or at least a strong APA. Too dark and hoppy to be
anywhere near even a high gravity cream ale. Not a bad beer, but I just
can't see how they can possibly call it a cream ale of any sort. And
yes, I'm well aware that breweries can brew anything they want and call
it anything they want. Anybody here tried it yet? Your thoughts?
I love it. It's got a bit of an earth-y sort of something
to it, which I figure is some effect of cream ale fermentation
or whatever. Yeah, it's bitter too. Lovely in the Masskrug too.
Easily the best Lagunitas beer ever. (I.e., my favorite.)
