Back before Letterman's late night shows on CBS and NBC, he had a little

I think it was their final show. I don't believe it ran long enough to
have any anniversaries. Checking TVTome . . . yep, First Aired June
1980, Last Aired October 1980.
I saw the clip when he was doing his NBC late night show. If memory serves
(which it possibly (probably) doesn't considering the length of time that
has passed and the age-addled state of my brain), they were celebrating the
anniversary of some guests (audience members?). I seem to recall an older
couple in the middle of the brush fire.
Anyway, regardless of the circumstances that led to it, I found the confetti
fire highly amusing (what a sick ******* I am - people could have been hurt
g ).
