By the way, the hard drive died..that was the problem. They put in a

Not a bad price at all. "Simple" data recovery using a program like
SpinRite is not so bad and that price seems great when you look at the
costs associated with a full "forensic" type recovery case. Those can
quickly reach $1000 and more depending on the size of the drive.
