That's weird! It's definitely not the case, though, because I use it
for pork and poultry in the 160-180 range. And I calibrated it in
boiling water, so I know it goes up to at least 212F.

If you dunk the monitor (the part that displays the temperature) in
boiling water, I suspect that it will not display any temperature at
all, ever again.
