I think it happens at all ages. I was particularly aware of it when
my kids were small. There was one door I called "the portal of
forgetfulness" because I'd have a thought on one side... step through
the doorway it to do what I was thinking about, then get sidetracked
and completely forget about what I was going to do until I went back
through that doorway again. OH, YEAH - I still haven't done x!
Trudge back, repeat process.
Yes, you're right...all ages. Even in my 20s I would have to sometimes
retrace my steps to remember what I had intended to do or get.
