Cats challenging each other to a fight are often mistaken for a human
crying baby. It's really eerie, how real they sound.

That just happened to me a week ago! I thought, who has a crying
baby?? Then I found out that noise was my cat, who I didn't know
was outside for her morning survey of the back yard, telling some
cat to get lost on the other side of the fence! Eerie is right. Never
heard
her sound like that.
