Looks like Randy is using Thunderbird. As I recall, its filtering is
relatively primitive, along the lines of OE. I think (but couldn't
swear) that Subject or Sender is about it.

I'm still doing pretty well with just a keyword filter for the
subject line. Every now and then I have to add one, but it's
working out pretty well without having to blanket kill any domains.

I use TB and filtering isn't too bad, you can do things like "If
sender contains" "whatever" then "mark message read" or "If Subject
contains" "whatever" then "mark message read"

Yeah, that will take of a lot of the problem. When I was picking out a
newsreader some time back I looked carefully at the filtering. At the
time, I was more interested in the cross-posting trolls (or I should
say LESS intersted in them) so I wanted to be able to do some filtering
on newsgroups.

I agree, TB is DEFIANTLY lacking in filtering crossposts but all in all
it's workable.

Hey, sorry if I was a bit grumpy yesterday. The spam thing is a boil on
the ass of usenet.

Thanks, no sweat. We all get our knickers twisted from time to time.
I've certainly done it. I think we all try not to but sometimes it just
doesn't work. Fagitaboudit. ;-)
