I ended up going to an Asian supermarket and
getting a disk ("cake") made by Yunnan Tea Co Ltd,
12 oz (340g) for US $7.

It's very good. The tea is dark red. Its flavor is
somewhat better (to my palate) than other teas that
I've tried, being slightly earthy, and with a slight
hay-like scent.

You got "shu pu-erh" - an artificially aged tea. Sometimes it's called
"ripened pu-erh"
