I would also suggest downloading the free shareware OE QuoteFix. It goes a
long way to solving some of the more aggravating problems, especially the
automatic placement of the cursor at the bottom of the post being replied
to.

I've used it for years now, and it works just as advertised.
The cursor placement doesn't bother me much, but screwing around trying to
correctly respond to, and quote, a quoted printable message almost had me
switching news/mail readers. I use the Firefox Browser which I would not
give up unless it was pried away from my cold dead hands, but on the other
hand I have a lot of stuff archived which is stored in the OE hierarchy and
referencing system so I don't really want to worry about exporting the
archives to some other reader program. However it would probably be the
Mozilla program if I did.
After using Firefox for almost a year, starting on a fully sanitized
computer, I have yet to have an antivirus or spyware warning go off. (Free
ZA, Free AVG, Free AdAware, No IE [with its idiotic install on demand
computer-suicide mode], no messenger chat programs except browser based
chat).
Anyway I've seen that Dave B is pretty particular about things of this sort,
so even though I am loathe to mess with plug ins, I figure if Dave's puter
has not blown up, neither will mine, and I am gonna give it a try.
