Thanksgiving Strategy
(googlesux) wrote in message . com...
Another question from a newbie. How do you all handle going to someone
else's house for Thanksgiving dinner (or any other meal)? Do you bring
along a microwavable container filled with your oen vegan meal and ask
to use the microwave? Or do you just eat whatever you can from the
meal that's served? If it's thanksgiving, it'd be nice to have some
mock turkey, so how do you handle it? I don't want to offend, but also
don't want to compromise.
Thanks. I'm sure this is a common question, so sorry to bore anyone.
Fill a pyrex dish with vegan versions of traditional foods and bring
it along. That way the host doesn't have to go through all sorts of
changes to feed you. Be sure to tell the host that is what you are
going to do.
I'd bring a dish with some mashed potatoes, stuffing, seiten 'turkey',
roasted veg and gravy. Pop it in the nuker for a few minutes before
eating and serve yourself. Be low key and enjoy the company.
Alternatively, host your own vegan thanksgiving dinner, invite the
family and cook it all yourself.
