My standby for sushi in Boston is FuGaKyu in Brookline. So far it's the
best sushi that I've had in New England. Any picks for the Boston area that
are at least as good as this one?
Yes, try Yokohama in Brookline (ask what is special).
Outside of Boston, Sushi Island in Wakefield is excellent.
Toraya in Arlington is also excellent. But these last two
are a big of a hike if you don't drive.
I like Blue Fin in the Porter Exchange building in Cambridge. I also
like the Ginza branches (one in Brookline, the other near South
Station).
I may take flack for this, but I'm also a huge fan of Gyuhama (across
from the Prudential Center). People have complained about service
(referred to the hostess as "Dragon Lady"). However, I've never
gotten anything but good service and extremely fresh sushi. But, I
stand by my opinion. They treat me good for whatever reason.
