They both say it's for beginners. I was just wondering if anybody has
seen either of these videos and could make a recommendation.

It depends on the experience of the person receiving the gift, and how much
he/she wants to learn about sushi-making. How serious is the interest?
Once you know that, you'll have your answer. The more informative the cd,
the more likely it is that a person with more than a surface interest in
sushi will enjoy it.
