I've found that Japanese restaurants take every opportunity to get some
time off. Sunday (all day) is impossible to find sushi, with few
exceptions and Monday is the same. This from an Orange County, CA in
which there are many Japanese restaurants.
I find some even close for almost any kind of bank or legal holiday!
