Yep, I have the same problem. I wish I understood why. Like you, they
never get banged up and yet I will go out to fire it up and find they
are nearly flattened. The darn rabbits or squirrels must be messing
around my WSM. I don't know.

No problem like that here. Mine's been out 365 for 3-4 years
and we have *tons* of grey squirrels.
