Problemo.
Upon opening the package, I threw the instructions away as I am supposed
to do, but it hit the bottom of the bin face up and something jumped out
at me that said "Do not use for continuous reading thermometer in a
grill or smoker. Use only as an instant read thermometer."
Is this a remote or corded Polder probe? If corded, is it wire
or silicone around the wire?
If the answer if corded-wire, then screw them. Plenty of us have
been using them that way for years. I haven't tried the silicone
probe wires in the smoker.

Thanks to all for the responses. It is as I thought, just a legal
disclaimer. This has the braided steel cover over the wires, and I would
bet a fibreglas insulator under that. With care, I will go ahead and use
it as is. That way, if it takes a shit I can blame you guys!
