My question is. Do you use prepared pudding and gelatin or use it staight from
the box in powdered form.
I made this today for a church social tomorrow. I used lite whipped
topping. (2g carbs per serving, 100 servings per recipe)
I figured up the serving totals to equal 16 (8 pieces per pie), with
a carb count of 24.15, including pie crusts pudding, and orange juice.
If you cut the pieces smaller, your guess is as good as mine what the
carb count will be. There's about 193.2 carbs in each pie. I'd love
to find a low carb graham cracker crust, but haven't yet. Another
alternative would be to make a nut crust in it's place. Don't think
there's much we can do about the carbs in the OJ. Using a citrus
drink would probably work, but they have just as many carbs as OJ
does, and more processed sugar.
I used the pudding and gelatins straight from the box, one at a time.
Worked great. And it does taste like the dreamcicles I ate when I was
a kid.
